Four Factors For Durability Of Granite Slab
Jun 25, 2019
The use of granite slabs is getting bigger and bigger and more and more popular, so do you know its durability? How durable is it, today we will look at the durability of granite slabs.
First, the structural strength of granite slabs. When selecting directional slab slate shale and shale, attention must be paid to the structural strength in different directions.
Second, the water absorption rate of granite slabs. When the granite slab is mined, the molecular structure is relatively stable. However, when exposed to the atmosphere, the minerals in the granite slab are poorly mixed. For example, the limestone dissolves in the acid to form calcium sulfate, which causes the granite to collapse. Therefore, granite slabs with uniform pore distribution, small pore size and low water absorption should be selected when selecting granite slabs.
Third, the physical properties of granite slabs. Granite slabs must withstand many external forces including gravity, wind, vibration, temperature changes, wear, and load. This requires high strength of the granite slabs, especially for granite slabs that are installed at high levels.
Fourth, the chemical properties of granite slabs. Granite slabs must be fairly resistant to chemical attack such as weathering, hydration, dissolution, dehydration, acidification, reduction and carbonate. To do this, the granite slab must be waterproof.
